Corona Virus Protocols

Here at Mews we will always prioritise your safety and the safety of our community.

Here are the steps we are taking to ensure our practice is doing everything we can to minimise the risk of spreading Corona Virus.

Cleaning Protocols

While we have and will always maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, we have increased our disinfectant procedures.

  • Between each patient we will be allowing the appropriate 'fallow time' to ensure any generated aerosol will settle and be then be thoroughly disinfected. We will disinfect all surfaces throughout the entire practice. This is including the credit card machine and any surfaces that is within a 2m radius of the patients journey through the practice.

  • We have sourced a cleaning product called Zoono. It was developed in New Zealand and is now being used to clean the TFL London Underground. Zoono is an anti-viral product, which prohibits Corona Virus from attaching to the surface which it has been sprayed onto. One spray of Zoono stops Corona Virus from attaching to a surface for up to 1 month. We will spray our entire practice with Zoono.

Social Distancing Protocols

  • The staff at Mews House Dental are from the same household. We have all been employing social distancing since the beginning of Lockdown in March.

  • We will be extending our appointment slots so that when you visit Mews House Dental, you will be the only patient on the premises.

  • We will be minimising all unnecessary physical contact, such as handshaking. The receptionist will keeping a 2m distance from visitors where possible, while also wearing a face shield, mask and gloves.

  • Where possible, we will be encouraging all patients to come by themselves to the dental practice. This is to minimise the use of the reception room.

  • If you arrive early we will be asking patients to wait in their car. There are two parking spaces available. If one parking space is in use, it is likely a patient is currently in the surgery. Please wait in your car until they have left.

  • We have a sign asking visitors to knock on our door before entering our premises. This allows us to safely permit someone entering the practice after our cleaning procedures.

Protective Equipment

  • We have hand sanitiser available outside and inside the dental practice.

  • All members of staff will be wearing a face mask, gloves and face shield. The dentist, will be wearing a disposable / washable gown. Depending on the treatment you require, the dentist will also be wearing a hood. This elaborate piece of protective equipment provides filtered air to the dentist during treatments that generate an aerosol. By wearing this equipment he is reducing the chance of cross infection.

  • Protective equipment such as masks and gloves are disposed of  between visits. New clean gloves and masks are then reapplied.

  • Dental scrubs will be put on at the premises and will not come into contact with the world outside of the dental surgery.

 UPDATE - 1ST November 2020

We continue to recommend that patients in the high-risk category delay non-essential treatment until further guidance has been given by the relevant authorities.

When you arrive:

We advise that you wear a mask at all times while inside the dental practice and only remove your mask at the request of the dental professional. We will continue to check your temperature and if it is above 37.8C, you will be advised to rebook your treatment and to follow government guidelines. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for a appointment due to distancing guidelines.

As you enter the building you will need to use the alcohol disinfectant rub to disinfect your hands.

The treatment rooms will be prepared prior to your appointment with all surfaces disinfected after each patient.

Please do not be concerned as we continue to maintain a high standard of cross infection control.

Stay safe and please contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Mews House Dental
